When engraved, the part is mounted on the bracket and powered to it with the positive pole. The 10 terminals from the secondary of the transformer ensure that the unit operates at 10 levels of voltage. The electrode-tool (see figure) consists of a cloth bakelite cylindrical handle 4 and a collet 1 to which a detachable punch with a shaped imprint is attached.
