Polysecure is a German company specializing in the development of product marking and certification solutions. Its brand-new “trace classification” sorting technology has won the German StartGreen Award.
Berlin's German Ministry of Environment jury said: "This technology is an important step in realizing a recycling economy, especially in the field of plastics."
Jochen Moesslein, Managing Director, said that the main objective of this technology is to more effectively classify plastic packaging and to achieve more categorized classification to truly meet the needs of the recycling industry.
"Our technology not only sorts the four main polymers of PE, PS, PP and PET, but also subclasses them, such as special PE materials for Coca-Cola caps. With this, our technology may become plastic packaging. The important driving force of the circular economy."
Polysecure has won the award three times in a row. The awards were set up to recognise innovative business ideas and start-ups and start-ups that contribute to climate protection and sustainable development through their own services and products. The company won the new venture category.
Dr Bertram Dressel, managing director of the Technologie Zentrum Dresden and chairman of the German Center for Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship, said that “Polysecure developed technologies that can sort materials very accurately and really fill the gaps in the recycling cycle”.
Moesslein said that the Recycle Bin can now provide more specific, pure recycled materials, and used to produce new plastic products.
Globally, this technology can better recycle 25 million tons of plastic. It will also reduce at least 50 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
