Failure phenomenon:
◇ Cleaning commands should be executed many times every day before normal printing.
◇ The printed test line always has unfixed disconnection.
◇ The test line just started printing is normal, but the line breaks after printing a few pages.
◇ Print always lacks one color (usually black)
◇ The external Ink Cartridge has been in the low position for a long time, and now the ink delivery line is not feeding ink.
Solution:
The above failure phenomena are all caused by the foaming of ink in the ink cartridge. After the continuous ink supply system is used for six months, the accumulation of a small amount of tiny air bubbles in the ink and a small amount of air bubbles entering the print cartridge from the print head will gradually foam the ink. The maintenance method is not complicated, just remove these bubbles and replace with normal ink.
Incorrectly lowering the external ink cartridge will also accelerate the formation of ink cavity foam, even if the continuous ink supply system using EPSON original ink cartridges, the above failures will also occur.
To troubleshoot this problem, please follow the steps below:
1. Remove the continuous ink supply system from the printer. After removing the print cartridge, do not turn it upside down, but place it on the same level as the external ink cartridge. If a sealing plug was used during the initial installation, insert the sealing plug into each ink outlet on the bottom of the cartridge. For the models with memory chips on the ink cartridges produced by EPSON later, because the ink outlet is equipped with a valve, there is no need for a sealing plug. Install a new or used EPSON original ink cartridge on the printer. This ink cartridge must be an original ink cartridge that is not perforated, filled with ink, or undamaged. The genuine original EPSON ink cartridge can guarantee the correct test results during the test , This step is essential.
2. After the printing ink cart is in place, the printer will perform a natural cleaning once, please execute the nozzle check print test line. You can repeat the cleaning and printing test line 3 times until the test line is completely normal. Then print a four-color or six-color color patch test chart (depending on your model, the print setting is 360DPI / plain paper), the color patch test chart must be printed continuously 3 to 5 sheets, while observing whether the printer is working properly. If the printing is abnormal, you can repeat the above steps. If after performing 9 ~ 12 times of cleaning, the printer is still abnormal, you can let the printer rest for 12 hours before testing. In most cases, the printer can return to normal.
When the color block test chart printed by the printer is stable and normal, you can be sure that your printer nozzle is intact. Once it is concluded that your printer is normal, you can continue the following steps to maintain your continuous ink supply system.
If you still cannot print normally after using the above method, please contact the EPSON repair center for warranty or a printer repair shop for repair. Although the discontinuous ink supply system is malfunctioning at this time, contact us for assistance. Before you decide to deliver the EPSON repair center for repair, please remove the parts and labels related to the continuous ink supply system, and do not mention to EPSON the use of third-party ink or continuous ink supply system, only that you are using original EPSON ink cartridge Explain the fault phenomenon.
3. When your printer is working properly, the following steps can make your continuous ink supply system return to normal.
Insert the tip of the 50-ml disposable syringe tube (with the needle removed) into the ink outlet at the bottom of the print cartridge connected to the continuous ink supply system, tilt the syringe tube slightly, and begin to slowly draw ink from the cartridge. It will be sucked into the print cartridge from the external ink cartridge through the ink delivery line, and then continuously sucked into the syringe tube. When the syringe tube is full, observing the amount of ink and foam drawn will know what causes the continuous ink supply system to print poorly. The printer will not print foamy ink normally, you must draw them out through the syringe.
Remove the rubber plug of the external ink cartridge, and refill the ink in the syringe into the external ink cartridge. This process does not waste ink, the foamy ink will turn into liquid ink after two hours.
Repeat this pumping process with a syringe until there is almost no foam in the pumped ink. This requires about 100 ml of ink to be circulated. That is, the ink extraction process needs to be repeated twice.
Note: The ink pumping process should be slow and can be paused, but not too fast.
Perform the above ink extraction process in the order of yellow → light magenta → magenta → light cyan → cyan → black. When changing colors, be sure to clean the syringe with warm water. If your ink cartridge uses a sealing plug, when operating a color chamber, the ink outlets of other colors should be plugged with a sealing plug.
4. Put the ink cartridge together with the continuous ink supply system back to the printer, and check and debug according to the operation sequence of step 2 above until it is normal.
