What kind of inkjet ink is suitable for inkjet printers
May 09, 2022
Someone once used a vivid metaphor that the inkjet head is the head of an Inkjet Printer, and the inkjet ink is the blood of an inkjet printer. This shows the important position of inkjet ink in inkjet printers. The print head determines the fineness of the printed picture, and the ink determines the color reproduction effect of the printed picture. Therefore, the quality and performance of the inkjet ink are closely related to the quality of the printed picture, and also greatly affect the reliability and use of the printing system. With the advancement of inkjet printing technology, inkjet ink supplies of inkjet printers are very expensive, and the original ink price is not much lower than that of buying a new printer. The reason is firstly the distribution strategy of printer manufacturers, lowering printer prices to occupy the market, and earning high profits from inkjet ink sales; on the other hand, the original ink, especially the high technical content of high-end ink products themselves is also responsible for it The reason for the high cost.
There are many types of inkjet printers, from the printing principle, there are two types of inkjet printers: continuous and drop-on-demand. Their inkjet principles are very different, so the inkjet inks used are also very different. The main advantage of continuous inkjet technology is that it can form high-speed inkjet particles, which is suitable for high-speed printing. Its disadvantage is that it must have a continuous ink pressurization mechanism, and it needs to set up a recycling filter for ink droplets that do not participate in recording. In order to charge the ink droplets, soluble inorganic salts are often added to the ink formulation to make the ink have a certain conductivity. On-demand inkjet color inkjet ink can be divided into micro Piezoelectric ink and bubble ink according to the printing principle, which are the main body of inkjet ink.
General requirements for the performance of inkjet inks include:
(1) Sprayability: It is expressed as two main indicators, namely the viscosity and surface tension of the ink; for Continuous Inkjet Printer ink also requires conductivity.
(2) Reliability: Do not block the nozzle; there is compatibility between the inkjet ink components and between the inkjet ink and the inkjet head assembly; there is storage stability.
(3) Image quality: good print quality (ink dot diffusion, high optical density, clear printing edges); fast fixation on different printing media; water resistance; light resistance; anti-friction.
(4) Safety: non-toxic; non-flammable; low odor.
